Raised by a single mom who worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices, Terence Fugazzi learned from her the values of compassion, service to others, and hard work. Despite the tough times, his mom ensured he had a top-notch education and opportunities typically unattainable for lower-income families.

Terence’s journey continued at Cal State Northridge, where he would be the first in his family to graduate from college, achieving a degree in Computer Science. The cost of a college education, while not as steep as today’s, was still a significant challenge for Terence. His mother’s unwavering support and determination led him to secure the necessary funds through grants and financial aid. At Cal State Northridge, Terence met his future wife of now 32 years, Nancy.

After college, Terence embarked on a career in marketing for a California-based personal computing company, where he played a key role in increasing their revenue tenfold over three years. This marked the beginning of a career where Terence would build multiple startups nationwide into thriving businesses. Terence currently helms a new small Gilroy-based business in the pet industry, where he continues to use his marketing and product development experience.

Terence’s work in tech eventually brought him to Silicon Valley. Preferring a more culturally diverse, family-oriented community, Terence made Gilroy his forever home, where his son Diego could get a top-notch education in a safe community that also provided the Fugazzi family with an excellent quality of life.

An outspoken advocate for the Gilroy community, Terence has represented his neighbors on the Planning, Parks and Recreation, and Open Government Commissions. Inspired by the kindness others have shown him throughout his lifetime, Terence is running for Gilroy City Council to give back to the community he loves.

KEEPING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE

As a husband and father, keeping our neighborhoods safe will always be my number one priority. I am committed to investing in public safety and providing them with the tools to work more efficiently.

As your Councilmember, I will support increasing our public safety ranks while maintaining the veterans who have faithfully served our community. Using data-driven strategies, we can find practical solutions to reduce emergency response times.

City government’s primary role is to ensure its residents’ safety. I take this responsibility seriously and will work tirelessly to make our streets safe and secure. Your safety is not just a priority; it’s my unwavering commitment to our community.

FOCUSED ON BUILDING OUR LOCAL ECONOMY

HOLDING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE

ENHANCING OUR QUALITY OF LIFE

TACKLING OUR STATEWIDE HOMELESS PROBLEM AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

With per capita numbers far exceeding most other communities in California, Gilroy is dealing with the challenges of a statewide homeless epidemic.

We must continue to explore solutions to this crisis while addressing the root causes. While our unhoused deserve our compassion, their needs do not take priority over other Gilroy residents who work, live, and learn in our community.

Homelessness is not just a housing issue but also a health and public safety matter; we need an all-hands-on-deck approach to tackle every facet of this problem. Multi-agency coordination is crucial; without it, we will duplicate efforts and waste resources.

As your Councilmember, I will work with all levels of government to ensure we have optimal support and confront challenges regionally. I will also facilitate robust public-private partnerships with community stakeholders and nonprofits while investing in mental health and drug rehabilitation programs.

As a Gilroy Councilmember I promise to:
