KEEPING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE
As a husband and father, keeping our neighborhoods safe will always be my number one priority. I am committed to investing in public safety and providing them with the tools to work more efficiently.
As your Councilmember, I will support increasing our public safety ranks while maintaining the veterans who have faithfully served our community. Using data-driven strategies, we can find practical solutions to reduce emergency response times.
City government’s primary role is to ensure its residents’ safety. I take this responsibility seriously and will work tirelessly to make our streets safe and secure. Your safety is not just a priority; it’s my unwavering commitment to our community.
FOCUSED ON BUILDING OUR LOCAL ECONOMY
As a small business owner, I understand our local economy’s challenges.
I will use my 30 years of experience to make Gilroy a business-friendly destination by marketing our unique strengths to attract better-paying jobs, expand our tax base, and create new community job opportunities.
My commitment remains steadfast in simplifying bureaucracy, streamlining processes, lowering the cost of entry, and removing obstacles. Business growth in Gilroy means more jobs and a better quality of life for all.
HOLDING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE
As a Gilroy Open Government Commissioner, I have had the honor of holding our city government accountable on behalf of Gilroy residents.
I will never forget that the resources that fund the City of Gilroy are your tax dollars, which you entrust to the city government to be spent wisely and responsibly.
My commitment to prioritizing transparency and accountability is unwavering. Every decision I make is based on what is most beneficial to Gilroy residents, not special interests.
ENHANCING OUR QUALITY OF LIFE
As a former Parks and Recreation Commissioner, I know that keeping our parks clean and functional improves our quality of life. It is essential our ambitious undertakings like Sharks Arena be done transparently, which will generate strong confidence in our overall plan to make Gilroy a recreation destination.
We also need to explore reviving our world-renowned Garlic Festival. This will inspire excitement and community pride while raising millions for local charities.
And, I support downtown revitalization as a backbone component of our efforts to make Gilroy a better tourist destination, it is only part of a larger plan that must be done in partnership with other local businesses to ensure that we prepare for the overall needs in infrastructure for all Gilroy residents and businesses.
TACKLING OUR STATEWIDE HOMELESS PROBLEM AT THE LOCAL LEVEL
With per capita numbers far exceeding most other communities in California, Gilroy is dealing with the challenges of a statewide homeless epidemic.
We must continue to explore solutions to this crisis while addressing the root causes. While our unhoused deserve our compassion, their needs do not take priority over other Gilroy residents who work, live, and learn in our community.
Homelessness is not just a housing issue but also a health and public safety matter; we need an all-hands-on-deck approach to tackle every facet of this problem. Multi-agency coordination is crucial; without it, we will duplicate efforts and waste resources.
As your Councilmember, I will work with all levels of government to ensure we have optimal support and confront challenges regionally. I will also facilitate robust public-private partnerships with community stakeholders and nonprofits while investing in mental health and drug rehabilitation programs.
Whether its helping us place signs or door hangers, getting the word out on social media, or donating financially to the campaign, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
